This game has to take the award for the most incorherent storyline in a shooter I have played in a long time. You are constantly being told what to do and where to go, but very little justification is given for anything. Don't get me wrong, it isn't that it is a complex or deep storyline, it is just jumbled and poorly told.
Also the mix of kind of Modern Military shooter type "get shot a couple of times and die" mechanics with more Halo like super solider stuff is a little odd at times (am I a super solider, or what?) - although your armour abilities do help quite a lot. That said the enemy AI obviously cheats a bit in terms of their behaviour when you are using the cloak ability (which makes the big "shoot me in the back" monster fights annoying, since they "don't know where you are" but still don't turn their back on you).
Talking of the armour abilities, the deep voice that announces what mode you are gets deeply annoying over time. Particularly if you are switching rapidly and often between modes. It drove me crazy, and had an even worse influence of my girlfriend when she was in the room.
Apart from the above it is a solid game with fun shooting, some nice weapons (although I did develop some favourites pretty early) and I really like the "tatical options" ability where the game suggests various approaches to handling the combat arenas you face. A nice touch. Plus it is the Crysis engine running on a console, which is impressive in itself.
